A New Sunday Morning Class Offering
“The Bible, Four Gospels, and Acts”
A class is being offered on Sunday mornings from 10:00 to 10:45 (right after first service and just before second service). This is an introductory type course that will relate basic information that every pastor knows, but that few lay people have been exposed to.
In the first session we will explore what the Bible is and how it came to be. We will also discuss how it is organized. Subsequent sessions will examine the four gospels, one by one. Dating, authorship, major themes and agenda will be explained as well as mysteries and controversies. All will be touched on.
The final session will explore the Book of Acts. Acts is short for “The Acts of the Apostles”. This book is actually a sequel to the Gospel of Luke, and reveals how the ministry of Christ carried on, after Christ’s ascension, through the Apostles in the formation of the church.
Each class will be no more than forty-five minutes. There will be a time for comments and questions after each talk. You are welcome to bring your own Bibles. The course will be taught by Pastor Rick Alpers.
