It's hard to not notice that I am a native New Yorker and was born in the Bronx. My husband and I moved to New Mexico eighteen years ago and reside in Rio Rancho with our two Siberian huskies. I received my teaching license in 2006 after spending twenty years in the business world as a computer consultant and technical recruiter. After teaching in RRPS, I completed coursework for a Master's degree in Education with a concentration in special education. When I interviewed at COHES, I knew this was where I wanted to teach. I had attended Christian schools from kindergarten through college and this special place reminds me of those days- planning chapel, small class sizes, a loving and child-centered environment. Who would have thought a native New Yorker would feel right at home so far away from the big city? This is my third school year at COHES teaching 4th grade. I've moved into a new classroom, at the end of the second hallway on the right hand side. My background and education help me to individualize instruction for my students that require such differentiation.
